Capstone Presentation: Melissa Wetherby: Parent Community & Website for The Little School (MSIT/MAT)

The Little School in Weston, VT is searching for a way for parents to become more involved and connected within their community. Leah Bratton, the director of the school, approached the Graduate School about having a website built. An online community not only will highlight the school and its unique programs, but also will give all parents, teachers and staff a way to communicate with each other in an asynchronous environment. This will be accomplished by having a public area of the site to promote the school, and a private area accessible only by sign-in for parents, teachers, and staff of the school. By extending the school community to an online forum, the school can build and strengthen their communication and support. Via this dynamic and interactive website, The Little School will strengthen their school community, uniting parents, teachers, staff and the larger community therefore strengthening the educational experience for all students and families. This gives The Little School a truly unique environment where the educational experience will be able to flow from school to home and back seamlessly.
