• Tony Stewart earned his 41st career win in his 456th start. It was also his eighth victory with Stewart-Haas Racing and crew chief Darian Grubb in their 100th start together.
• Tony Stewart became the second driver to win the first two races of the Chase; Greg Biffle did so in 2008.
• Tony Stewart's eighth Chase victory tied Carl Edwards for second all time behind Jimmie Johnson's 19.
• Tony Stewart led once for two laps, tying Jeff Burton for the fewest laps led in a New Hampshire victory.
• Tony Stewart leads the points for the first time during the Chase since he won the title in 2005; however, the driver leading the points after the second race has never gone on to win the Chase.
