March 7th, 2011 in the evening: My 8-inch Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope was set up for some video imaging. Here are four clips of Messier objects in the evening sky: The Crab Nebula, M1 (a supernova remnant), and the three open star clusters in Auriga: M36, M37 and M38. The field of view is 40 x 50 arc-minutes. The camera is an Astrovid Stellacam EX, attached to the telescope using a Fastar 0.2x focal reducer. The beeping noise is the CHU shortwave time signal at 3330 kHz.
