I am thinking of buying the Bay res for the same pump. However can you fit any version of the DDC pump in the res bay? Is there any point in using the XSPC top and then putting that into the XSPC res? Or would that defeat the purpose of the top? I am slightly confused

I would not recommend to do that. It will more than likley screw up the pump.

i would recommend the drive bay one. It will help save up room for your drive bay case.
