  • Eric, the motors are usually easy to obtain, once you know what you're looking for.

the Fisher and Paykels are the most common, but most LG washing machines and also newer whirlpool washing machines are using 3phase direct drive motors. I get have a washing machine repair guy down the road who sells the whole machines for $20 the motors are bullet proof, is always the electronics that fail in the machines. Keep an eye out on the side of the road, dumps etc, you'd be surprised where you find em.

  • I enjoy trying to make things on a minimal budget, which is why I have been using the F&P motors for my mills.

Mario, I think you might want to look into active solar heaters and thermo-ducting for heating your house. Using electricity to generate heat is very inefficient. Have a look at some of these video's

  • I would love to find one of them Fisher and paykel motors.

  • Great project, well done with minimum material cost.

I also want to build some windmill to help heating my house during winter time, but still not sure how to do that.

Horizontal one is more efficient, but vertical is much more simple

    Regards from Ireland

    Mario
