is this an edited version? because we're supposed to be watching this for my course and everyone was going on about how horrendous the rape of lavinia scene was, and in the end it wasn't as gory as they made out. just wondering, would be helpful because i might be watching the wrong version :)

Titus' answer to Marcus' passionate outburst is one of Anthony Hopkins' best moments in this movie. He truly projects a man who laughs because he cannot cry anymore. He has hit rock bottom and knows he can only climb up from his position and prepare revenge on his foes.

@dmora015 Aaron told Titus that he could save his sons if he cuts off his hand. Titus does so, only now we find out he's been tricked and his sons were murdered anyway.
