  • wow, how much pressure did you put into that tamp? looks far more then 30 or 40lbs.

  • what are you, the tamp police? i'm all about target objective, and in this case the golden rule gets me there- 14 grams, 1 bar tank pressure, 195C, 28 seconds, for a 2 oz shot with plenty of creamy goo. i adjust grind and tamp to fine tune. if i'm working with beans that have been roasted to the point of used motor oil, then indeed i will provide the 30lb tamp, but i prefer a dry roast (lavazza grand), and my favored result calls for a rough grind and hard 80-90lb tamp. thanks for noticing!

  • What is the music? I must have it!

  • its mozart, the requiem Dies irae by leonard bernstein

  • Divine, not devine...

  • dew drops in the garden

  • Its funny to see someone get so snobby about coffee. Not you, the other guy. The growers, the coffee, and machine are the ones doing all the work anyway.

YOURE DOING IT ALL WRONG MANNNNNNN!!!! FIX YOUR TAAAMMPPPP!

  • ohhh lol ok thanks!

  • a tamper is a piece of equipment used by a barista to compact the ground coffee in the portafilter before coffee extraction. Tamping gives water resistance when the water tries to pass through the coffee. The harder you tamp, the more resistance.

  • could you explain to me what tamp is? and what it means when its higher and when its lower?

  • 1 bar pressure, 195C....and you wonder why I ask questions.

9 bar and 94.5C-95.5C is what I would recommend but obviously it varies.

Here is the reason you may need a 90lbs tamp. If you pull pre-packaged stale crap then expect dishwater shots. 90lbs tamp might make it come through a bit slower but you are still drinking bitter stale coffee.

Don't be so sore to see someone else question your pours, other peoples expertise and advice is what improves us all.

  • You are a funny guy, we need more comments like yours. I´m very envious of your machine and I´m sure every one else is too. My only question : is resulting coffee as good as Requiem or rather does it come anywhere near it ?

  • It´s a great machine, but you spell E61 with capital letters and Mozart and Bernstein with small ones !
