Creating your own software repository is easy. Just the one command: createrepo :-) This way you can add in your own driver and utility rpms and have then searched and installed through YaST or zypper on openSUSE, or yum on Red Hat. This way all the rpm dependencies are met and the setup is so easy. The only caveat with this method is that it does not sign the content files but for own network this is ok. The GUI tool in YaST can additionally sign the repository files if required.
