@rumpranger65 : well, I wasn't assuming anything about you. I was just talking in general - btw, if you know about music, good for you, but you got still a lifetime ahead of you for truly learning the trade ;-) no matter what, if you are knowledgeable, you should know how Bach's music didn't come from nowhere... from Palestrina, Caldara, Lotti, Buxtehude, Reinken, Vivaldi, Albinoni, Couperin, Telemann... the list of his influences/inspirations goes on for ever..

@bersa888 Also, please don't throw in this "I'm a professional musician" business, or "only an ignorant non-musician could say something like this'. I've studied counterpoint and music theory for the last three years, as well as playing piano for the last 5. Best.
