Final update on my progress to try and repair a PS3 with the YLOD error. Here I've got the system rebuilt and ready for testing. I also show how to easily test the PSU for faults.

Part 1 is here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48oHeOSmu5g

Thanks for watching!

  • ps3's have problems to

  • Nice channel,subbed!

Did you try baking the PS3s motherboard in the oven rather than a heat gun?

  • Can I use an analogue volt meter to test this?

  • Don't you have to test the PSU under load?

  • have you tried liquid flux before heating up the gpu and cpu?

  • i had the same thing happen to me i found it to be the power suply

  • I did all the same things too. I am going to try using the tester so I know if I have to buy a new power supply.

  • @StygianSiara1221 My ps3 is mest up when i play for like 30min it automatically shuts down, Do you have any idea of why its doing that

  • @52779able PS I read on iFixit that if the fan doesn't spin before the YLOD it's a power supply fault.
