Actually it was a teacher I had that told me not to teach after I tried to teach:
I tried helping a classmate with their math one day and afterwards he had forgotten all the stuff he had learned beforehand, I am the anti-teacher!!

Unfortunately, there are people out there who truly believe that teaching is a lucrative practice. One college professor comes to mind . . .
No, teaching is not easy or glamourous. You really have to want to do it.
