@vagos2006 Valaam is also in the Middle Section of Greece know as Meteora. Visited there. They had a large sign up on the one Monastery.

This melody is in Plagal 1st, at least in the Byzantine tradition. Do the Russians denote it to be chanted in 1st tone, even though it sounds almost exactly like the melody in Plagal 1st?
