  • Sorry had to rate it 1 for such poor respect for safety! kids don't do DIY like that at home! Be safe!

  • Some sparks doesn't mean low safety...

  • Very good smoke test!!!

Been there a few times. I have worked on some 50,000 watt AM transmitters. You would be surprised how easy they are to trouble shot. When a part goes bad it just does not burn out, it explodes.

  • 50kW is serious power :]

  • throwing off the mains switch instead of filming this mess would be clever....

  • Find the hidden fire hazard.

  • I remember a guy in my electronics class got done assemblying a circuit and he thought a 220 ohm 10 watt resistor was getting too hot,so he used his WET soldering iron sponge to cool it and he got lit up with 450 volts from the plate circuit! (Tube unit) One to roll in the floor laughing for after his reaction!

  • this happens in this old fenolitte socket

  • I can just see Han screaming at Chewy, "SHUT IT OFF!! SHUT IT OFF!!"

  • What's happening?

  • I've seen safer and better built rats nests than this hazard. As for the valve socket once it starts to arc it's time to replace it, it will carbonize up and become more conductive and only get worse you can't fix it with any solvents. Tapping parts with the screw driver handle is safe enough I've done this before on TV sets to find dry joints.

  • LOOOL ! =D

Pretty easy to find your problem hehe..

I hope your OPT has survived.

  • this happens to everyone who does this stuff, no big deal.

  • he did fine.... at least he wasnt hittin the socket with his hand.....or pour water on it...i watched a dude get owned by one cuz he poured a big gulp on the amp...lol retard.. he wont stand so close next time it starts burnin...or pour half a gallon of soda on it...

  • tambem nesse lixo tinha que pegar fogo....burro

  • i have to ask this but do you know what your doing, with all this stuff. that to me looks like a firehazzard and tapping it with a screwdriver !?!. fail.

please dont come near my valve amp.

one bad zap and your gone for good..but youll not listern to me enyway.
