  • @aljirvine I think the major downbeats are 1, 4, 7, and 9

  • its in 10/8*. I think you have to pay attention to the bass drum and think of it as 1..4....9.|1..4....9.|

Once you hear it like that, it makes a lot more sense.

*I know you can say its in 5/4 but you feel it in 10

  • @r5t6y12,

    Maybe I got that wrong.

The time signature is in 5. The measure signature is in 4.

Anyway, there are 5 beats to the measure and a 1/4 note equals 1 beat.

  • @simensiak,

I just answered your question below.

I just answered your question below.

  • Ok,

Just to clarify it here folks...10/8 is the same as 5/4. This is in 5/4.

The beginning rhythm is 10 8th notes per measure, but since they're 8th notes the time signature is in 4. Since there are 10 notes per measure the measure signature is in 5.

    Thus 5/4.

  • I listened to the Powaqqatsi soundtrack years before The Truman Show, when I heard it in the show I went to You Tube and fell in love all over again.
