On his 6/27/07 radio show, Sean Hannity blasts Ohio Senator George Voinovich for his support of the Amnesty Bill.

It got so heated, as it became crystal clear that Senator Voinovich misunderstood the results of a vote on an amendment to the "comprehensive immigration reform" bill being debated in the upper house and was also apparently unfamiliar with efforts to re-impose the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters operating on the public airwaves, that the Ohio Senator hung up on Hannity.

From WorldNetDaily: ... The key sticking point in the conversation was Hannity's question as to whether the senator had done a cost analysis on the bill. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think-tank, estimates the bill would cost the American taxpayers $2.5 trillion. Voinovich said he didn't believe the cost would be that high because a third of those eligible for a path to citizenship would never take it. "How do you know that?" Hannity asked. "Where does that figure come from?" Voinovich did not provide any supporting evidence for his contention and admitted he had read neither the bill itself or the Heritage Foundation analysis. When Hannity began making the case against the "amnesty" bill, Voinovich interrupted, asking: "Are you happy with the current legislation? Our current laws stink!" "No one is enforcing those laws, senator," said Hannity. "That's the problem. It's been five and half years since 9/11, and the border is still not secure." ... Voinovich also asserted efforts in the Senate earlier in the day were successful at amending the immigration bill to require illegal aliens to return to their nation of origin before getting on a path for a green card. When Hannity pointed out the measure failed in a 53-45 vote, Voinovich seemed stunned. "He doesn't even know what the Fairness Doctrine is," exclaimed Hannity. "He doesn't even know the outcome of a vote in the Senate today. And he gets mad at me when I try to explain it to him!"

And absolutely nothing would change with the current Senate bill - the problems will only be compounded and more costly.

We can only assume that Voinovich isn't alone in his failure to understand the legislation being rammed through the Senate - yet Senators are voting for it!

  • Very nice work.

I *borrowed* your video and used a variation of an audio of this radio show, and made my own version and uploaded it.

    Hope you don't mind.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery...

We have to stop these crooks. They're turning our country into a third-world country, and killing our strong middle class.

    Thank you for this work.

  • Feel free to spread the word any way you can. We are all on the same side -- NEXT FIGHT? The Fairness Doctrine.. get organized, and get ready for what the Dems have in store

  • Voinivich was the last respectable Republican in the Senate. Hannity is just one of the many scumbags that makes the GOP the joke that it is today.

  • @Denapz im unaware of his involvement with all this . could you explain his involvement. ive just got a curious mind. thanks for the input

  • Leave Voinovich alone you piece of shit Hannity. Moderate/Eisenhower Republicans are better than those Neocon pigs. Voinovich has been a constructive member of the GOP for decades. Hannity ruins the GOP.

  • Voinovich is a traitor. what he has done to small business and the middle class today is shameful.

  • This is all BS and misleading ... Special interests decide what the laws are.

  • hannity you media treasinous traitor

  • voinovich, mccain, snowe, lindsey graham, they all have to go.They're working hand in hand with the democrats to destroy america as we have known it.

  • Voinovich voted for the war.

  • I'm not a huge Hannity fan, but I love this clip because he tears this guy a new one. These politicians get mad at talk radio hosts and bloggers and whoever because they are "firing this thing up." They want to just do whatever they please and not have anyone question it. The amnesty bill back in 2007 was a perfect example of them feeling a little pressure from the people who pay their salaries.

  • At the second it aired, this ended Voinoviches career. He can't even buy a Republican vote in Ohio now! The senators own words sunk that ship. Nobody tells George what to do even when it's his job to listen!
