The success that Jimmy Page has today has a lot to do with him being of an open mind. He will listen to pieces of music that could come from a far off land and then add his touch to it and many people think that it is original. Well if somebody is not exposed to that music then the assumption is that Jimmy Page created it.
I have never seen him say that anything he plays is his original composition. Rather he keeps smiling and keeps on playing.

@bIametheniIe Page and the rest of zeppelin were hevily inspired by blues, folk, ect... but stealing is a streach. Sampling is a better term and that is simply the way music evolves. Besides for every progression or riff that page "stole" he did 10 things that had never even been thought of before and he remains one of my favorite guitarists of all time in what I think is undisputably the best band of all time
