My friend and I have been building this bike over the winter and it is now to to the point we were able to test the wiring and engine. This start up was with the stock head pipes and no mufflers. I have a MAC 2 into 1 exhaust that will be installed very soon.

  • I sanded it, degreased it, cleaned it and then painted it with high temp silver engine paint, made a world of diffrence.

  • I have a mac 2-1 exhaust system that we have on the bike, I just recently got the bike back together just a few small things to finish and then I will post a video of the bike complete and a good exhaust clip idling and running!

  • nice

  • Beautiful colour scheme.

Been looking at a few old bikes to make myself a cafe racer, and finally decided on the R80...this just further proves that i've made the right choice.

  • @tylerlee1983 no kidding! engine looks RAD!

  • What did you do to get the crankcase to look that clean? I'm starting to restore an r75/5 and don't know whether to try and polish or paint it.

  • cant wait to hear the 2-1, stock jets? I have an 84 R100RT and a 78RS, these old airheads may not be the fastest, or best handling, but they are just about the toughest goddam bikes ever built.
