I can, too. You know how His Whiteness had no love for pitchers!
I can imagine Richie spinning in his grave when Larry Andersen was named as his successor in 1997.
-
They should have emblamed him like Lenin and put him in the broadcast booth next to Anderson.
-
Very true! I am sure Harry and Whitey are having a blast up there and I am sure they are still wishing Happy Birthday to the Celebre Twins, Plain and Pepperoni!
Every time a pitcher screws up a bunt or messes up on the bases, I can still hear Whitey saying "OH BROTHER!"
-
Don't forget His Whiteness!
Richie's looking down, too, as he's right by his best friend Harry's side.
Whitey was there the last time the Phillies 3-peated as NL East champions (1976-78).
By the way, back in August 2009, someone installed two pairs of seats from Veterans Stadium at Harry's grave in Laurel Hill Cemetery in the East Falls section of Philly, one pair on each side set at a 45º angle.
Four "phans" can now sit among Harry in the way they had become so accustomed.

I know Harry is looking down and smiling today! Let's give him a few more smiles and have him make the call for the Big Guy Upstairs saying "The Philadelphia Phillies are AGAIN the World Champions of Baseball!"
-
I was hoping someone else would step in and take that question. The last few games I went to were without any homers.
-
do they still do "that ball is outta here" after each homerun?
Yes, but unfortunately, it's barely audible.
