Vintage Seagate ST-251 hard disk drive spin up and track0 calibration with the cover removed. It is quite noisy, but this is normal for these old HDDs. This particular device is from 1994 and has a groundbreaking 40MB capacity.

  • @mike52787 No that thing is from 1991 hard drives like that did not have a 40Mb capacity in 1984.

  • The motor startup sounds like a newer seagate :-P

  • its not broken...it does the seek test very well and no bad bearings duh :P

  • @Messerschmitt262a2a : in fact it was already in a bad shape, so I had nothing to loose. I wouldn't have opened a healthy hard disk :)
