For this 15 minute Photo Challenge I head inside the beautiful Winchester Cathedral.

Low light was the biggest problem on this location. The Canon 5D mark II held it's own shooting at 3200iso but my little HD camcorder really struggled.

  • Great pictures. Would you using Tv or Av mode to take those pictures?

  • @chenga732 Av mode all the way.

  • Hi Gavin, what kind of strap are you using on your 5D MARK II? thanks!

  • @forgethefancyname It's the RS-7 strap from Black Rapid

  • To hang your camera in this video do you use a quick release plate, a carabiner and a strap? Is it better than a normal strap?

    Thanks

  • @michedeba It's way better then a normal strap. It's the RS-7 strap from Black Rapid.

  • @Bently100 That's not quite true. Do a search for my 15 minute challenge in "Kens field" to see somewhere where the photo potential is far from obvious.

  • Gavin You are my hero... ever since i came across you online i have not missed a single update, i follow you on twitter, facebook and of course via your site. You have helped me so much, i am an amateur but i have managed to shoot 2 weddings and have also purchased my own home portrait kit - my photo's are coming alone nicely. So keep them coming....Oh and if you ever fancy a trip to Scotland let me know, i would love to meet you in person and get advantage of all that knowledge you have.

  • Not bad, to do 1/20 handheld!

  • Brilliant video. very inspiring

  • I watch your video' all the time. But wichester cathedral video' was top notch!!!!!!

  • Love the photos. One question, do you have your camera set to spot metering or multi/average?

  • How do you put them together without a tripod??? Aren't the photos a little off? (I'm talking about the hdr photos)

  • Just been to the Cathedral after watching this for some college shots. Great location, cheers Gavin!

  • Great images Gav and some taken at 1/20th of a second. You must have a steady hand.

  • For the photo at 3:40 did you still have the matrix metering on or spot metering or did you use the AE-L feature? I love the effect you achieved, and really just trying to get specifics so I can try it myself.

  • 3.53 - Reminds me of Hogwarts :)

  • beautiful photos, found this through your amazing photo of the crypt on flickr
