@CassetteMaster Hi thanks, well mine is the exact same unit and for some reason the forward is not working, if its idler then im missing a idler pulley.

@TheMrmagnetophon I would have to check. I looked at the mechanism years ago and to my memory I think it was all idler-driven. But then maybe there was a small rewind belt. I'll have to check.

Nice machine. Early Sony's were always good quality products. Do you live in Tape Recorder Heaven USA? Gosh, you find all these neat machines at yards sales! I go and never find anything! You must live a charmed life, and the Tape Recorder god has smiled upon you!

Well, most garage sales I encounter just have a bunch of clothes and toys and stuff like that! This one, I asked the person if they had any tape recorders, in which she went in the house to retrieve this machine!
