Kardeş Türküler (Songs of Fraternity) - Dê Bila Bêto (in Kurdish)

Kardes Türküler (Kurdish: Stranên Biratî / English: Songs of Fraternity) was conceived in 1993 as a series of concerts given by the music branch of the Folklore Club at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. The groups of artists perform songs in Turkish, Kurdish, Armenian, Arabic, Assyrian, Georgian and incorporate many folklore traditions and cultures of Kurdish, Laz, Georgian, Circassian, Roma, Macedonian, Alevi and other peoples. The idea of the ensemble is to bring the diverse nations and cultures in the region together through the art of music and dance.

This song, "Dê Bila Bêto", is one of many Kurdish songs performed by the ensemble. The song uses the characteristic aspects and sounds of traditional Kurdish music. The song is performed in a Kurdish language called Kurmancî (Kurmanji) spoken by millions of Kurds and the style uses a poetic storytelling tradition that is a part of classical Kurdish music.
