The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo on the Gong Show. This was seen originally in 1976. This little treasure had been sitting on my shelf for years. I figured all old time Boingo fans may enjoy this. I still have about 25 stubs from all the Boingo concerts I saw, and never missed the annual Halloween show. I grew up in the 80's blasting Boingo music while driving my car. Richard Elfman is in the rocket, and Danny is playing the Trombone. Thanks Oingo Boingo for all the years of great music, there was nothing like it on earth! Mark.

  • Very sexy dance moves, whoa!

  • I think this video is hilarious beyond belief. I probably saw it when it originally aired but, I don't remember. I became a fan of Oingo Boingo and Danny Elfman after I saw them in the movie "Back to School." Goooood stuff!

  • Danny has come a long way... Funny as all get out though!

  • Wow, panelists Bill Bixby and Buddy Hackett!!! This is old! Rest in peace.

  • Gee. I wonder if Buddy's wearing a wig? And where's Lambchop, goddamnit? Hulk angry.

  • @Amarianee - I've been a big fan of Oingo Boingo since the early 1980's, but I was unaware that it was Danny's brother that originated The Mystic Knights, not Danny himself. Thanks for the history lesson.

  • This should have been a special feature on the Forbidden Zone DVD.

  • @CowboyDave1812 Actually, the leader of /this/ band (The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boing) is Danny's Brother. When Richard decided to pursue film, Danny took over as Lead singer. From the early 80's until '95 they were the alternative rock band, a lot of people know them as, Oingo Boingo

  • Who would have ever guessed then, that the leader of this group of lunatics would go on to be one of the greatest composers of motion picture scores of our time...?

  • Prokofiev, cool. Zappa must have been proud.
