In the U.S.A. the NEC requires the cord be long enough to pull the light out of the niche and set it on the pool deck for servicing. You lay down on your stomach and hang over in the pool and unscrew the light no need to get in the pool.

u got a nice pool mate, i had a question. i have a pool and i want to add lights underwater. Will i have to drain the pool and make a separate housing for it. I was wondering if there are any battery operated lights that i can drop in the pool, and then get it out of the water when not required. Do reply. thanks

Thank you for the information. It was very helpful, my problem is that water got inside the lens. You inspected the sealer but didn't mention what to do if isn't OK. Please advise
It would help if your arms are 4 or 5 feet long. Can't reach this one from the deck!
