Military Honor Guard before they shot the three rifle volleys fired during the 21 Gun Salute. The people were walking toward the shelter for Spurgeon Douglas Horner's memorial service on 2/3/10 at the Riverside National Cemetery. Scottish bagpipes played one of his favorite hymns: "Amazing Grace". Spurgeon Douglas Horner was my father. Spurgeon Douglas ("Doug") Horner was a Naval pilot and a navigator on aircraft during WWII. He was the navigator in the planes that were catapulted off of aircraft carriers out over the water.
