Real Life Zombies: Indoctrination in North Korea

A project for Modern Asian Perspectives class, taught by Mr. Adkison.

This video is a trailer for a research paper written about the plight of North Korea. While North Korea is typically thought of as a terrorist state with nothing but Communists inhabiting its borders, Human Rights atrocities go on inside its borders everyday.

The failing economy keeps people struggling to feed themselves, often forcing them to resort to eating clay and tree bark, as you will see in the video.

However, the North Koreans do not strike back because they are indoctrinated, or brainwashed, by the Korean government.

In this video and in the research paper, there are ways listed in which you can help the cause, the most important being through education. Hopefully, after watching this video and reading the research paper, you will be able to spread the word and let people know what is going on in North Korea, and find a way to help.

@DementoX666 It's really not the same thing... You've got equal opportunity, a less than 10% employment rate, and welfare. The North Koreans don't have anything. I can understand that you might not be into the whole save who we can idea. Not everyone's that optimistic. But at least understand the situation before you go around yelling about things none of us could understand. Yeah, they'd kill to have what we have, but doesn't that show how hard it would be where they are? Im just trying to help

I agree that this North Korea is really in need of heavy support for it's people. I need not point out what we already know and see. Just a thought though, am wondering how a person from South Africa under apartheid will react to this, not having the support when it was critically needed. On equality, the blacks in USA,and ENGLAND. One more note; Israel continued cruel acts on the Palestinians. Lets hope for another 20+years the people seeking proper living conditions in North Korea can be free.

One detail is wrong: North Koreans are not led to believe that their leaders are suffering as much as they do. The DPRK propaganda says that the are the wealthiest, most developed state in the world, and that their Southern brethren are suffering in hunger and poverty under the iron heel of the American imperialists.

Do the people believe that? Well, after they hear that 16 hours a day for every day of their entire lives... It's soaked up by their unconscious.
