Oh and during WW1 population of Canada was around what 7 or 8 million so for that many to volunteer thats a big commitment as is the WW2 effort....etc... Today Canada's population is around what? 50 million and the US population is around 300 million? So its understandable if CF forces are like 1/3 size of US forces considering the population level etc.. lol, but we do give a hard push when its called for. Support the Troops :D

A lot also served in the Korean War. You should read up on this. :D I love history...But yeah Canadians have done a lot in like every war, and they have been on A LOT of other operations for peacekeeping etc.. so even when war is not on there is always somebody that needs help "Call on us and we will be there." During WW2 over 1 million Canadians served in the Canadian Forces, and after France fell was the main manufacturer for the war effort and had the 3rd largest air force and navy. WW1 well over 600,000 served and by 1916 forces were larger then British. Feared by Germans they were known as shock troops "intended to lead an attack." "Hard to kill;cook" all volunteers. "The British are coming, man your posts. The Americans are coming, prepare to fight. The Canadians are coming run for your lives."

i would love to be one of these men. They go to another Country they leave their family and friends behind and put thier asses on the line 24/7 and why so we can live happy and be who we are today. i wont to one of those men because they make me proud to candian and they make their counrty pround and thier is no better feel that the one when you mae a country like Canada pround.

True dat johnysitcom :D I actually thing the pop is around 40 not 50 but either way yeah :D I also herd they recruiting yet another 20,000 more troops to send over or something. I saw it on the news how they offering lots of money in bonus for sign up and stuff to encourage people to sign up so they will prly fill that 20k in no time if they havent already, that... and they spending a hell of a lot on other military stuff YAY MORE SHIT TO KILL THEY ENEMY! get one for me boys :D

i agree 100%..our economy is also much smaller,,all taken into consideration...were doin a hell of a job,,always have...Canadian fighting soldier best in the world. bar none.

Yes I recognize this and remember it was not recognized by the either Veterans Association or was it the Governemnt? Can't remember, but I honoured the sacrifices before that and I care more about what goes on in Iraq and support the mission more than the news presents the US citizens do. If there were a US branch I would serve (although my intent is to join the CF) it would be the USMC. And because of those reasons stated above I care about Iraq too.
