Description:How can we promote collaborative learning using technology, without burning out? Make students the teacher!
This session will demonstrate the collaborative learning design in 260P New Media Communications. The Communications Studies course examines issues related to mediated communication, synchronous and asynchronous technologies, email, IRC, and other Web 2.0 technologies. The course is a blended online course. Issues related to mediated team communication and project management are addressed by placing students in mediated teams. Collaborative and interactive activities will be conducted in teams, as well as two synchronous, (live) meetings using Wimba classroom web conferencing tools.
