Just the rhythm guitar player, but the music is always better when he's around.

Back when it was sunny in august.......

This is definitely "Lord Inchiquin" by Turlough O'Carolan. Swarb and Simon recorded it on "Close to the Wind" as part of a medley.

Lord Inchiquinn if I'm not mistaken

Sir Pat, this is excellent. I was filming the same set from the crowd using a VHS camera/recorder combo! Highlights were of course Simon, also the totally mad Jean-Pierre Rasle on bagpipes. Vive L'Alliance!

Yes, I agree - Simon is brilliant on guitar. And his voice is so expressive when he sings - he takes you right into the song with him! - ladybird

Yes is great! The obscure job on guitar made by Simon has often been underrate.
I like is his capacity to fill the empty space. I like his style of singing-telling.
I like the choice of the stuff performed.

He once claimed that as a guitarist he was "sh*t". This video proves that he was a deluded liar. :-)

the guy is so underrated - his acoustic playing on his solo albums and the ones he did with Swarb in the 1980s is sensational.
