A bitterly cold Spooner Row saw A4 Pacific 60019 Bittern as 4492 Dominion of new Zealand on her first mainline run after AWS equipment repairs, running light engine to Norwich ready for the York Yuletide Express.

Also seen was 66096 on the Norwich-Peak Forest stone empties, which caught me out a little as I wasn't aware it was running, hence didn't get time to set the camera up for a forward shot. The super horns from the driver made up for this though!

  • Interesting to see the animals in the field were easily spooked even by modern traction. Nice catch of DNZ. Barry

  • @bkendlerA4 Thanks Barry. Yes those horses are quite easily spooked hence the stablegirl asking us if there was a steamer coming when she drove past - only DNZ was already on the straight by then! It was 66096 that really got them going though!

  • Soo lucky to get the whistle! I was trying to get them to blow it in both my videos but no one was looking out the cab! Think i have to come up to Spooner Row some time next year. looks a great spot.

  • @BrecklandSteam Cheers! Think the day-glo jacket may have helped there! I'll be back there on Monday for Tornado weather permitting.

  • Amazing Footage, Lovely to see a fully Stremlined A4 On the line instead of just in the BR Livery where used to.

  • @ClassA4Mallard Cheers Jacob. Never got to see her in green but must admit I like the blue.

I've never seen her in Blue. She does look smart in Green but it's nice to see her in the Original LNER Livery

  • @BritishTrainVideos Thanks! The title music is my own composition.

  • Excellent shot, what's the intro music?

  • @HomeMoviePerson Thanks Hayden. Yes it was very nice to get a whistle from 4492's driver, plus a lung full of clag mmm lovely! I'm surprised that poor horse didn't have a cardiac. He was also on edge when 4492 passed. The stable-girl pulled up on the bridge just as 4492 approached - realising it was too late to get the horses in before the steamer passed.
