Because North Carolina is the Samurai capitol of the world.
Sorry, but not ONE Samurai ever trained in slow motion with a willing opponent. Why? BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO TRAIN TWICE AND UNLEARN ONCE IN BETWEEN!
This is why almost EVERY martial arts school in the western world is bullshit

considering that a katana blades lenght is 28 around 28 inches, i would believe that
tom cohen already is standing in reach distance of his opponent....just good to know

techniques without physical technically... like not knowing how to jump but yet your teaching backflips... the reaction is delayed because you know your oponents initial strikes, theres no natural reaction or reasoning involved, its like reading a power point prentation off of a post-it without looking up once. these moves can be effective if it was used in a timely fasion though, but this demonstration is folly. just pretend the oponent has a weapon..
Thanks for the vid next time I'm attacked by a robot who strikes once then freezes I'll be sure to use your techniques

i respect this teacher and his 'jitsu' however these techniques don't seem practical in a real world setting. These are set patterns applied to the 'quaos' of combat. Who strikes like that in a real fight or competition, i know it's desisgned to illustrate the movement but it seems to be ineffecient. but i respect the art and this is in know way meant to be a put down
reply thank you
