SFR-SCCA Group 5 race, Thunderhill, 2011-10-22

Unedited in-car video from #10 ITS (1999 Miata, driven by Viet-Tam Luu) car, covering the Group 5 race, at the SCCA San Francisco Region Double Points Regional season finale race, October 22 2011 at Thunderhill Raceway.

Driver's note: I started 3rd, but only needed to finish the race--in any position--to clinch the championship. So after the start I decided to ease off a bit; that turned out to be a bad idea as it backed me into the middle of the pack of cars that I usually always run ahead of. After the RX-7 passes me I back way off, noticing how much oil he's burning and figuring his engine may be imminently close to self-destruction--and not wanting to be anywhere near if that happened. After we passed the halfway mark (guaranteeing me a non-DNF finish), I started to get back into it and fought my way back up to 4th place.
