What Went Wrong, Part Three (Miley's POV)
When we got off the phone, I couldn't help but feel, just plain awful. "Yeah, and we're going public!" she said. Well what the fuck is that? Nick and I were never public until we broke up and I basically told the world in my 7 things music video, and the chapter in my book, and of course, Before the Storm. Liam walked over and wrapped his arms around me, breaking my thought. "I better get going, I'll see you tomorrow?" he asked as he kissed my forehead. I faked a smile and hugged him tight. "Of course Liam, I'll call you in the morning." With that, he left my house, and left me to my thoughts. I picked up my phone and dialed a number that I was not use to dialing anymore. It rang once, and I just couldn't, I hung up. Why should I be calling Nick? What the hell was I going to say to him? We haven't talked in awhile, and when we do, it's nothing serious, but how I was feeling right now, was pretty serious, but regardless I had Liam, though, I did consider Liam a best friend more than a boyfriend.. My phone vibrated and that's when I saw Nick's number come up on the screen. I doubt he has my number saved anymore either, but calling each other use to be a daily thing, so our numbers are scarred into each other's brain. I hesitated, but picked up the phone, trying to hide the hurt in my voice.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey Miles, you called, but then hung up. Is something wrong?" He asked.
He knows me too well, I hate it..
"Oh, no, nothing.." my voice trailed off. I knew he was going to ask again, so I had to think of a plan, I snapped my fingers once I thought of something.
"There had to be a reason you called," he said, laughing.
"Well, it really was nothing. Just remember when we were all shooting the SEND IT ON music video? And you and I swore that something was going to happen between Joe and Demi? We were so right!" I said, laughing..
He laughed, "Yeah I heard, but Miley, I know you, and I know you wouldn't just call me out of the blue after not talking for sometime, just to say that, so, what's on your mind?"
I couldnt take it anymore, it just came out..
"ONE DAY NICK, ONE DAY, AND THEY ALREADY DECIDED TO GO PUBLIC. YOU AND I DATED FOR A YEAR AND A HALF, AND GOING PUBLIC NEVER WAS AN OPTION FOR YOU! THE ONLY TIME WE WERE SEMI PUBLIC WAS WHEN JOE SAID IT ON LARRY KING BUT WE WEREN'T EVEN DATING THEN, AND YOU GOT SO MAD AT HIM FOR IT! WHY? Just tell me why... Did you just figure that we weren't going to last, so what was the point? Because, do you know how much that fucking hurt me Nicholas? How it broke my heart to lie in every interview? No, you don't. Because when you lied in an interview, THAT'S WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO."
There was silence for quite some time, but I knew he was still on the line, but I didn't even want to hear what he had to say.
"Whatever, Nick. This is why I hung up before, because I didn't want to have this conversation. I'm going to go now, bye." And with that I hung up.
I couldn't take it anymore, I just broke down. I broke down into tears. I hated Nick. I hate the fact that he still had the power to ruin my day. I hate fact that I can't get over these feelings I had for him... It was then, my phone vibrated, it was a text..
