Twelve days after Coe had astonished the athletics world by knocking over a second off of the 800 metres world record he returned to Oslo to compete in the Golden Mile. All the top milers of the day were there(including John Walker, the then current mile world record holder ),except for Steve Ovett, who had won the event the year before. Looking at the interviews before the race one gets the feeling that the other runners didn't think Coe,who had limited experience over the distance, would be much of a problem if the pace was fast. They were wrong!
Definitely, authentic jewels to watch. These videos bring back us to enjoy one of thos most astonishing era in athletics. Thank so much indeed.

ah great work again.....really appreciated!
I was born in 78 (only really can remember him as a politician) so these youtube posts are my link to a wonderful period of athletics, especially for this country.
coe is so "upright" in his style,,,,,an osteopath told me it was achieved because he spent 2 hours per day stretching, allowing him increased flexibility in his hips??
got to love the comment "it's one a year for me"
