  • i just started shaving with a de wich i bought in germany and i find that your movies are helpfull but where can i get the stuff wich you use in this movie

  • @metallicafan114 you can get it at enchanteonline(dot)com

  • Hey Mark, I just purchased the merkur HD and I tried my first shave today. I tore my face apart. I think I was using too much pressure. Also, how tight should the handle be to the blade. When its as tight as it goes, it seems too flush. And when its looser with a gap between the blade and the gaurd, its loose in my hands. I was wondering the proper space between the razor and the guard. Thanks again for the post.

  • whitey430314- You need to make sure the handle knob is fully screwed down; the blade needs to be very stable in the razor to work properly. And yes, you probably used too much pressure and you don't have the razor angle down quite yet. Its OK, these are all very common problems for the new DE shaver and will work out with practice.

  • Hey Mark I was wondering if you could reveal the brand of the shaving brushes features in this video I am assuming them to be simpson? Or could you suggest the best brush( to be used with cream not soap) money not being an issue?

  • psidhu1979- Sorry for the late reply; I don't know why your post didn't show up until now. The brushes in this video were a Shavemaster V100, a Savile Row (lightbulb shape), and a Rooney. Shavemaster's, Simpson's, and Rooney's work exceptionally well for Method Shaving in my experience.

  • can you make like a course or playlist for bennigenrs

  • 1. Are these products considered helpful for folks with acne? 2. Aren't most products used by traditional wet shavers mostly organic anyway (compared to canned goup used with disposable blades)?

  • Well, I do have chemical sensitive skin....even taking a shower with soap that isn't very gentle results in itchy dry skin all day.

  • bsmyn0708 - actually no, the cube is definitely not a shave soap; you wouldn't be able to make a proper lather with the cube alone. its really more like a marselles soap. i dont know about activator but cutting balm is definitely not like a pre-shave oil.

  • You should try adjusting your Gillette slim to level 2 or 3. Those are common lvls. Make sure your razor tightener (the bottom) is slightly loose before you adjust. Gillette slim is one of the best razors. I use a 1962, and it has never given me a cut, nick, or razor burn. Use Witch Hazel as aftershave, make sure you're properly moistened, and follow all of Mantic's various other rules. Any razor will give you razor burn if you don't shave properly. NEVER apply ANY pressure with the razor.

  • I can handle all the Method Shaving stuff until the 4-pass part. If I don't treat my neck gently, it will bleed.

  • Nothing is more bad ass and manly than shaving with a straight razor >:D

  • because it's bad ass and... manly? :P
