"Dare To Be Stupid" - Weird Al Yankovic cover, Biffco Studios

If it was any excuse to cover this tune, it was for experimentation, fun, or for an elongated form of masturbation sans the mess.

More than anything, it's an attempt at recording/mixing vox with aspirations of doing more in the future. I used the typical vocal effects (compression, reverb) and some flanger effects, mostly for the purpose of acclimating wet vox to a track already saturated with synth bass, keys, and some heavy sampling. No pitch correction was used.

When Weird Al did this tune, it was an original tune with the intentions of parodying a style of music - the style being Devo. Having said that, the vocal style, at least to me, seems like someone with a cold is trying to lay down the tracks. In actuality, Mr. Yankovic mimicked the singing style from Devo when performing "Dare To Be Stupid" - by extension, my attempt at "Weird Al" style vocals is actually more of a take to sound like Devo. That also explains the heavy electronics in the tune.

I decided to put up shots of me playing video games in the background as filler. While it's not the most visually stimulating video anyone can muster, I thought it less half-ass than putting up some random screen shot. It was just an excuse to put up a song on youtube and with that in mind, I suggest you actually close this window and just let the music play. If you're bored enough to watch the video itself - my playing video games is my reward to you.
