Just how good was Al Bowlly? If anyone typified the voice and music of the 30s it was Al and probably Ray Noble. Eighty years on and sitll no one, other than Glenn Miller and Ray Eberle, has come close to them. Surely Al Bowlly is the greatest crooner who ever lived.
