  • I've gone through worse with my Escape

  • Uh..... No. 4WD Lo is a low gear in the transfer case that is usually about 2.3:1. That means for every 2.3 turns of the transmission output shaft, the driveshaft turns 1. Putting it in second gear won't help anything but make the wheels spin more.

  • Don't get me wrong Escapes are fine. But the AWD system is made for the street. This vehicle isn't really designed for any of this. Actually most aren't. You'll just end up breaking stuff that's expensive to fix. If you want play in the mud get yourself an old 4x4 pick up compact or full size. Everything on them is beefier. I have a lifted ranger and my wife has an escape. As far as the escape goes is in the back yard when we have a ton of snow. Drive the escape to work andsaveyourmoney.

  • @mikedtrash mine works haha, i just wish they made a button so you can turn the auto fwd off so i could drift it a little better in the winter time...but i guess i get what i get.

  • @bigblockstang ive gone through worse in my lesaber!

  • ground clearance period ...my baby 2wd ram pushes through alot just cause i got the tires and the room

  • does the AWD even work in that car?

  • Hey, any you guys know how to deal with the escapes problem of missing at low revs? Seems it could be a common issue. Nice vids by the way.

  • @rudolphna54 yah but you get more torque in 2nd

  • @doufcha yeah mine was shaking bad then i google and find out lot of people was having the same problem and the cause was intake leak so i went to autozone and buy a intake kit cost around 35 bucks and took out the top intake change the plugs and the gasket kit and the problem was solved :D i love mine had it since 2002 also have a 2004 liberty

  • @SPADES6o6 hey man, they are great little rides for offroad, and i agree with you on the trsnny , iv replaced mine twice, but they have 9 inches of ground clearence from factory, also has full independant suspention front and back making it a perect platform to start with. i didnt know the intake manifolds leaked tholugh, is that a common problem?

  • ford escape are very nice the only thing i dont like about them, they are so low to the ground problems with the transmission, and the intake manifold leaks, but if ur a good mechanic its just perfect
