@deralteist I like him and I'm only 18. I like the originals better than today's stuff.

I remember Jimmie from my boyhood days in the 1930s, he had TB which killed him in 1933 when I was 6 years old. I still have the records my parents bought in the 1920s and 1930s. Wonderful memories.

I really do have a friend named Campbell.

Hey Vaughn, you need to listen to Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, if that's not real country,I"m a city slicker!

Jimmie's thumbs up gesture is interesting because of its application to railroaders. On the one hand, it is the signal given to an engineer that he is good to go. This was because verbal commands were hard to hear in a rail yard. On the other hand, it is a sign a railroader gives at the end of his shift signifying "My works done for now." Thumbs up, Jimmie, you did good work.

We don't have real country music today. Today, Jimmie would be run out of town. How Sad!!!

@deralteist You're pretty lucky to have grown up back then, everything now is so messed up and society is just bad

Blind Blake is great ....but I think Jimmy's a tiny bit better.....this is what makes for horse races....

This version is good but Blind Blake's is ten times better
Jimmie Rogers AKA The Singing Brakeman, was making records when I was a
kid. (I'm 83).He was from another era as Hank W. and the others. I think he
died young from tuberculosis. I like him because his music was the first I heard
