Let's play POWDER 01: Imps on Acid

POWDER is a simple but enjoyable freeware roguelike for beginners and experts alike. Designed specifically for portable consoles e.g. the Nintendo DS and earlier the GameBoy Advance it offers surprisingly quick gameplay and immense replayability.

@PKSTkimo When you choose the Zap Spell option (the Z at the bottom and there are default shortcuts for that) the hotbar appears and you can drag the spells there - just drag the name of any spell in the list.

@Xenokalnew H'ruth gives you more skill points (+20 against +15 for Klaskov). It's more restrictive though.

Sorry for double post, but for a pure fighter, should I run Klaskov or H'ruth?

I just started and Klaskov gave me a +3 artifact warhammer of unbreathing and teleport control. Since then, I have been rolling monsters (including named liches, named dragons, named gold beetles, and also cockatrices with ease) ;-DD

@FtDSpartn Yes, it's normal. It's a room of sleeping monsters. You can have fun with them or even try making them fight against each other with cunning tactics after they wake up. Please note that Pax doesn't like slaying helpless creatures though and all sleeping monsters count as such. =)

Ah - keep in mind that the dungeons are NEVER empty - there will be more and more monsters spawning as you explore them and you have to strike a balance between exploration and fighting.

@FtDSpartn You need a wand/ring of polymorph and then a ring of polymorph control. Then, if you have ever encountered a dragon you can zap the wand on yourself and choose any monster you encountered - voila - now you're dragon! ^^

As a bonus you can get a ring (or necklace?) of unchanging and then you'll never change back to your current form. But watch out - your magic/physical levels are set to the ones of the monster and some monsters have fewer eq. slots. (But you can level-up!)
