After 33 years, the video arcade in northern New Jersey has shut it's doors.
The closest amusement arcade is now some 40 minutes away.
In an area with some 12 million people, and among the richest int he nation, the arcade can no longer compete due to real estate and lease prices.
I grew up in this establishment since I was 12 years old.
What follows is the raw auction footage of this significant fixture of New Jersey.
20 years too late?

I mainly blame Sony and Microsoft for the death of the arcades. Damn that XBox!

Wow... Had no idea this place even existed. Maybe, if they put this place in Bergen County, it might look different? Eh.. Then again, Sportsworld closed not too long ago as well. A shame. A lot of these classic arcade places are disappearing one by one. I just hope Xanadu makes up for lost fun in some way. But it won't be the same... R.I.P. vanishing arcades!
