  • Sorry, Lizzie1337, but you're definitely wrong.... open up the textbook and have a look: second position of arms is when one arm is held as in first position, and the other is raised, slightly forward from the body.

Like HighlanderChick, I hope youare NOT a Highland teacher. You are definitely mistaken. I believe you're confusing Highland with Ballet.

  • When you've won more trophies than she has on the table behind her, then you can talk.

  • whahahahahaha funny hell moment epic

  • @HighlanderChick yes it is

  • i would say that MapleBok is right but i am BATD and SOBHD where as there are alot of different forms of dancing so technically anyone could be right but in the main form SOBHD form MapleBok is right but I guess if you are from australia or a similar place your form may be more popular

  • Katja, right!

  • boooo!

  • No way. Please see the message I've sent you.

  • To further prove that what I have said is true, I have just checked with my old dancing teacher who agrees with me, and if anyone would know, it's her - she's been teaching for over 45 years!

  • Arm positions used in the fling are akimbo and 4th arm postion, passing through 2nd arm position. I think if you reread your textbook you'll find that I am right. Maybe it's taught differently in different countries, but I know that I am definately right, and I am a good dancer/teacher, thank you very much! 2nd position is not used as a holding position, it is a passing through position, where arms come from akimbo, out in front of your chest to 4th arm position, as used in the fling.

  • Flora and Lilt are technically not Highland dances - those are Scottish National dances. So I believe this dancer is correct.
