Monaco moves towards the sustainable development of the country. Its actions cover three main priorities:

1) the preservation of natural resources;
2) environmental protection and quality of life;
2) the fight against climate change through the reduction of greenhouse gases.

In this video message, Monaco shares examples and key strategies they are implementing to reach these goals.

For example:
- by using renewable energy, the objective is to reach 20% of its annual consumption in 2020
(Today, the deployment of sea water heat pumps for the heating and cooling of many buildings covers 17% of these needs)
- Monaco is committed to reducing its consumption patterns 20% by 2020
(through the implementation of an energy consumption monitoring policy of public buildings, among other examples)
- Urban Transport Plan
- waste management

The Minister of Environment in Monaco, shared with the United Nations Division for Sustainable Development (DSD) a video statement describing their strategy in dealing with the issues of sustainable development, with the main focus on items in the agenda of the eighteenth session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-18 http://bit.ly/9jMuEw).
