I-80 (UT), Salt Lake City, East & West Thru The City

This video follows I-80, along both directions thru the Salt Lake City metro region. Includes footage of the expansive I-15/I-80/UT 201 interchange, and views of the Watasch Mountain Range.

A drive thru the Great Basin?!?! Yikes.

Although I-15 through the Wasatch Front is very pretty and scenic, too. Did you also drive I-15 north to Brigham? Amazing Vistas.

@SteveDude01: I used to actually somewhat despise driving through the Great Basin via I-80, mainly due to the seemingly never-ending isolation, but I've come to really appreciate the stark beauty and mountains, over the years. The 75 MPH limit (you can realistically drive 79 or 80 MPH without having to worry about being pulled over) also makes the drive pretty fun.

I do have the entire stretch of I-15, up toward Idaho, recorded on film, but it'll be awhile before I work on the footage.

Thanks for the great video - it's made me long for another vacation over there from the UK to very familiar territory! I go to see my daughter regularly in Laketown, Upstate Utah and have travelled I80 many times through Parleys - not quite as scenic as heading to Logan and through Logan Canyon though. Once again, thanks and keep the videos coming!

So I came back to this video and posted about the absence of a skyline from the view of the freeways. Finally noticed it going onto the 15/80 duplex. The freeway system and scenery still look amazing.

Hmmm... it seems like if you're going I-80 East, you'll see best Downtown Salt Lake City Skyline view, and the best Wasatch Mountains view.

I'm liking the open look of the freeways in Salt Lake despite the roads being in the middle of an urban area. It's like there's no city skyline from what I could see going east/west (I saw a little bit of it at times though). Also, good choice of music (I like your tastes). It's just nice to see nothing but mountain in the distance.
