Car and Driver

Car and Driver, the game, was developed by Looking Glass Studios and published by Electronic Arts back in 1992.

I used to play this for hours on end. Looking now at the graphics, I can't figure out why I liked it so much...

This video filmed using DosBox 0.72 - which has made this classic game playable again!

Oh, and the reason I go off the side of the track - too busy trying to remember if there was a key combination to switch to the external camera.

I spent hours playing this on my 486DX-33 back in the early 90's. Lots of fun to explore the game world and run over squirrels and chickens. It was maddeningly difficult to control the car - almost impossible to stay on the road, regardless of what kind of controller you used. Game speed was also CPU-dependent, so when I tried playing it on a Pentium the cars moved so fast they were impossible to drive. Ah, the good old days! Thanks for posting this!
