this is my quail rolling her egg around, showing signs she wants to incubate.. she's only about 9 months old so its quite an achievement that she wants to incubate them

  • how would she be able to roll the egg into the kleenex box when it has the lip on the front?

  • that's cause she didn't use the kleenex box

  • I think she is missing a basic step in egg care. When you roll it under yourself, it is imperative that you SIT DOWN. its like she gets it under herself and goes "Ok, now what?"

  • she eventually sat on them

  • It looks more like they're playing soccer! :) I wonder who won?

  • wow, they sure are random birds.

She's just pecing at the floor, then all of a sudden "hey! i feel like incubating my egg, ill roll it!" xD

I hope my hen incubates her eggs =)

  • mine does this as well..... she moves it across the pen, around obstacles and puts in so much effort. sometimes she'll hide it and then an hour later will be dragging it into the open.... no interest in incubating so all the moving seems like a lot of wasted effort

  • why doesn't quails sit on the egg? don't they realize it's their soon to be baby or something? it's as if they are thinking ' wtf, is this thing that came outta my ass ? '

  • Cook these quails and have a nice lunch... :-P

  • Great video! Shows fixed action pattern in action. Thank you.

  • haha, I don't think button quails should be parents...

  • I have seen quails like the male quail in the petshop here, but i have never seen a female like this one, the ones in the petshop are just darkbrown. What sort is it? Aaand another question. If theres two quail siblings who are a female and a male, the female doesnt lay any eggs?

  • Hi, do your button quails lay eggs now?

i had my botton quails for about 3 month!

and they layed only one egg about a month ego!

  • heck, its a golden egg!

  • how do u get the male and female to live together is it that they are siblings or that they have been together for a long time or is it that you have other females for the male?

  • CAN U PLEASE CLEAN THE CAGE!??? How would u like to live in there!? I have many of these birds and all the cages are SPOTLESS!!!!!!!
