Keith Ganz overdubs and layers several acoustic guitar parts, including rhythm, lead, and solo lines with a variety of Collings Acoustic Guitars at SoundPure Studios in Durham, NC. This video features the final performance. Check out our other videos to learn more about how this music video was made. Jason Richmond provides an overview of microphone recording techniques and discuss mic positioning, pickup patterns, as well as pairing microphones and preamps. Our second video features the acoustic guitars used in the performance as we discuss the types of wood used, body shapes and styles, as well as why we chose each guitar for specific parts. The third video details the techniques used to mix all of the tracks. We demonstrate how we used compression, EQ, Reverb and Delay as well as showing the different pieces of gear used. Give us your feedback! Call or email SoundPure with any questions you may have about the gear or techniques used. 919.682.5552. or 888.528.9703.

  • Great sound and great guitars (and great playing) I looked at the related videos with interest but of course had no idea what was being talked about. Makes me want to move beyond Iphone and dv cam for my "recordings".

  • @dummyguava Thank you! Let us know if you have any questions. We're here to help. Out of curiosity, which guitar was your favorite?

  • @soundpurestudios I like smaller guitars, generally - the C10 Sunburst to look at (but needs a slotted headstock!) but the sound of the Baby 2H by a hair.

  • @dummyguava Just goes to show how well smaller bodied guitars respond to a mic. If you're interested in hearing the high-res recording we can email it to you!

  • wow great sound and great performance!

  • @newnessmusic Thanks! We really enjoyed making these videos. Stay in touch and happy new year!
