I remember this episode of Howard Stern radio show from NY very well. Howard gave the lyrics to Elton, Elton looked at the lyrics, and within a couple minutes started singing this song. Howard wanted Elton to sing the lyrics to another tune at first but Elton's music sounded much better. Amazing!!! BTW-This is how Bernie and Elton collaborate... Bernie sends the lyrics to Elton, Elton adds the music.

Elton is brilliant and the fact that Elton made a song for him proves how amazing Howard is.

I found myself humming this tune today completely randomly after not hearing it in... a decade maybe.. I heard it live on KROK (WXRK), Howards show in NY back in the day.
Awesome how you can find pretty much anything on youtube in a few minutes.
I read a few comments that suggest this isnt Elton, it is 100%.
Great song, Great singer, and always great Howard.

Yeah I remember this shit from the mid 80's when Howard was only on locally, and maybe Philly and DC at that point. They wrote the lyrics for him to perform as a parody to the tune of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me", and Elton was just like "C'mon, can't I just compose an original melody?" And the gang is like "yeah great!", so Elton just starts singing and playing this spontaneosly! And its got all the earmarks of the best Elton stuff. Look out Bernie Taupin here come Frigtening Fred Norris!
I have been looking for this song forever...Thanx Bro!!!!!
