risingsunproductions.net presents Chinese Kung Fu direct from Taiwan in the 1960's exceptional quality B/W footage of old school masters who escaped from mainland China.
It`s a shame that it looks like 90% of the people watching this don`t know what it is they are looking at, or the difference between the form and fighting technique, to watch these forms then make assumptions of the fighting abilities of the masters is beyond stupid and shows real ignorance of real kung fu which believe me you are not gonna find out from google, youtube or any book.
@benngearthquake Take you, for instance, you're claiming to 'defend' your art, yet you're doing that not by directly addressing my claims but rather attempting to dissuade me from doing whatever I'm doing. You're not willing to assess the validity of my claims, you're only worried that it makes your art look bad. Ironically, this is the same reaction that Bruce Lee had to endure when he first realized (the hard way) that the 'traditions' were flawed.
@benngearthquake My initial response was to the person who said kickboxers would never beat 'these' masters, when history and the footage itself hints the opposite. I merely pointed out some facts, so yes, I'm guilty of speaking the truth.
It's not like crashing someone's party, more like giving a reality check to people who are deliberately deluding themselves because of their emotional attachment to the art [contd]
@benngearthquake I am helping those practitioners in my own way, by pointing them in the direction which they will know for sure will bear fruit. Why spend time revamping the entire art, when the required result has already been achieved in modern competitions.
I know they have no hostility towards Muay Thai. I never said that. And yes, being a good person is more beneficial to the society than being a good fighter (not to say, though, that good fighters aren't good people). What's your point?
@Evensong4001 The fact that you don't intend to remedy the traditional arts to improve the development of future practitioners is why I take issue with you. This clip is a celebration of traditional MA and it has no hostilities towards Muay Thai or kickboxing, yet here you are putting the boot in. Its like going to someone's party and splashing a drink in their face. Being a representative of traditional arts, of course it affects me!!! It is my duty to defent it.
I want to go to this disco.

@Evensong4001 Because being a person of good character is much more positive to your own life and society as a whole then a being good fighter.
