I grew up listening to them on the radio and have always loved the way they sing these old Hyms. Their voices are so beautifully blended I just love it!
This, along with "Amazing Grace" are, in my opinion, the most "divine' of all gospel hymns. If there was ever a doubt about who is better, the Statlers or the Oak Ridge Boys, merely listen to the Oak Ridge Boys version. The Statlers' is so much better. Any one of the Statlers can solo and "carry the song." Their arrangement is also much better.
This is by and far one of the best rendition of this beautiful hymn

They are the first group that I saw in concert when I was in 6th grade and are still by far the best one I have heard. Thank you for sharing it.

I miss them. Especially the gospel songs. A great Christian witness. And with Jesus, He is the True Friend indeed.
